George Washington’s Mount Vernon
250 Years of Leadership
America’s 250th Anniversary doesn’t happen every day. To celebrate, we knew Mount Vernon couldn’t do just a traditional museum advertisement. Using a cinematic approach, our TV spot reminds the public of Washington’s greatest gift: laying down his power so our nation could move forward.
The General Comes to NYC
Mount Vernon had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to advertise in Times Square. We made it count. Located just a few blocks from the theatre where Hamilton was playing, we burst on the scene with an eye-catching nod to pop culture.
When in NYC, you have to make the rounds. Our reenactor explored Manhattan, first making a surprise appearance on the Today Show and then surprising people on the streets with historic trivia and free passes to Mount Vernon (all shared on our social media page, of course).
The legendary place that made a revolutionary man.
For many, George Washington exists solely in history books. But if you really want to understand the man who gave our country its start, you must visit the place he called home: Mount Vernon.
We developed a campaign that brought the man behind the myth to life and pulled him into the modern world. By inviting the public to see the General on his terf by speaking in theirs, we made history feel approachable like never before.
